We are pleased to announce that DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis, P.A., is acquiring the law practice of attorney Meni Kanner, who retired on October 1, 2016. Mr. Kanner has been practicing real estate, probate and estate planning at 5010 Park Blvd N, Pinellas Park, since the 1970s. He attended Stetson Law School, graduating in 1970, and joined the law firm of Krassner & Thorpe. Over time, both attorneys Krassner and Thorpe retired and he ended up the sole attorney at the firm. Mr. Kanner is a current member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, having engaged in numerous actitivies in Pinellas Park. He also has an interesting background as told in the Pinellas Park Beacon.
Mr. Kanner loved practicing law and helping people but he knew that retirement was something he wanted to enjoy. When the mayor of Pinellas Park, William Mischler, told him that it is better to stop and smell the roses from above ground, not underneath them, he started working on an exit plan.
Our law firm had been working with Meni on mutual elder law, litigation and personal injury clients for the last few years. We have had a great working relationship and he knew he wanted to send his clients to an honest, hard-working law firm that will treat his clients well.
Staying to assist Mr. Kanner’s clients will be his long-term paralegal, Dawn Matter. Dawn has helped with Meni’s probate clients since joining his firm 15 years ago. We welcome Dawn to our DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis family, which now has a total of 19 employees.
Our firm has never acquired another practice like this so it is very exciting to have a branch office in Pinellas Park.
We wish Meni and his wife all of the best in his retirement and for many years of good health and happiness. We also look forward to providing excellent service to his many clients.
