How often should you go see your attorney to review your estate plan? We'd probably say every 5 to 10 years. What we know is, statistically, is when someone dies, the average estate plan has not been looked at in 13 years. As you can imagine, the law changes, the trends in the law changes, the power of attorney documents change, you may lose documents, a family member may die. There's a lot of things that could happen over a long period of time. Conceptually, you just have a good relationship with your attorney and you sit down with them every 5 to 10 years.
