Will My Case Go to Trial? (Transcript)

Paul R. Cavonis, Injury Law and Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney

The odds are, your case won't go to trial.

Of the thousands of cases that I've handled, a relatively small percentage actually go to a jury trial. The fact is, is that we're able to negotiate good settlements for our clients in the vast majority of cases. In a relatively small percentage of those cases, we actually file a lawsuit, and of those cases that actually go into litigation through a lawsuit, only a smaller percentage actually go to court.

So typically, the vast majority of cases never need to see the inside of a courtroom, but it's very important that every single case be prepared as if you're going to try it because when you prepare a case for trial, you actually decrease the chances of ever getting there.
