Hats on to the Arts
May 13, 2021
The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Collectors Circle hosted a fun-filled cocktail party at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club in celebration of the arts on Thursday, May 13. This sold-out event had a wide assortment of wonderful hats—some hats were created by the guests themselves or were commissioned by local artists. Congratulations to Attorney Rep DeLoach for winning the “Most Creative” hat category with his work of (metal) art by Frank Strunk III, entitled “Flight” (2004). The mechanical bird on the metal lampshade actually flaps its wings to signify f light! Director of Marketing Simone DeLoach recently joined the Board of Directors of the Collectors Circle and Co-Chaired the event with fellow board member and estate planning client, Keith Bucklew. This “friend-raiser” raised over $11,000 toward the Collectors Circle mission to enhance and preserve the permanent collection of the MFA through the acquisition, restoration and conservation of art. Simone serves on the Board of SPCA Tampa Bay and is an avid animal and art advocate. FCA showcased how pets contribute to our health, happiness and longevity. Attorney Rep DeLoach was also part of the pet-friendly program and presented on “Estate and Pet Planning” including pet trusts, charitable planning, and incapacity planning. The exhibition was part of the St. Pete PAWS program and the City of St. Petersburg’s initiative to be designated a national “Better Cities for Pets.” DHC is proudly a pet-friendly office!
A Far Out Brunch
February 11, 2018
In celebration of the Museum of Fine Art’s exhibition Moon Museum: Art and Outer Space, the Contemporaries celebrated the relationship between art, science and space travel by hosting a Space Age Brunch on Sunday, February 11. The Bob Rauschenberg Gallery Director, Jade Dellinger, who has appeared in PBS’ History Detectives, spoke to the attendees about the story of how conceptual artist and sculptor Forrest Myers put the first piece of contemporary art on the moon, which was called the Moon Museum. The piece is a small tile with illustrations from John Chamberlain, David Novros, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol. The original tile was left on the moon via Apollo 12; one of 40 copies of the tile is currently on loan to the MFA from a private collection. DHC was a proud sponsor of this event and all net proceeds benefited the Museum’s contemporary art acquisition fund. DHC’s Director of Marketing, Simone DeLoach, chaired the event and is the Immediate Past President of the Contemporaries.
Friends of Photography: Panel Discussion on Collecting and Preserving
October 8, 2017

These questions and more were recently answered by a group of experts through a panel discussion hosted by the Friends of Photography (FOP) of the Museum of Fine Arts. Attorney Rep DeLoach spoke about the great American tradition of philanthropy and bequesting to institutions, the legal aspects of donating to a museum, and what that means from a tax and estate planning perspective. Also on the panel was an appraiser, an archival framer, and a collector. All proceeds benefitted the photography collection at the Museum of Fine Arts through the FOP.
