Wellness Warriors
April 2024
DHC and Seminole Title Company were thrilled to join the St. Pete Bar Association Wellness Challenge, focusing on team physical and mental health. The perfect weather added to the joy of our picnic lunch together. We’re proud to have placed third out of 18 law firms, earning an Honorable Mention, an award for the Flamingo Room, and a cash prize for a staff celebration. Special thanks to everyone who participated, especially attorney Joe Murphy for championing the challenge!

DHC/STC was a lead sponsor of the event benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Tampa Bay. Over $14,000 in funds were raised to provide medical equipment, treatments, and a summer camp for children suffering from Muscular Dystrophy.

Tom Grayson Memorial Tennis Tournament
January 7, 2019
Our hearts sank with the unexpected loss of our long-time, personal and professional friend, Tom Grayson. Tom lit up the office whenever he was in the law firm or title company. With more than forty years in the lending business, he retired in 2015 as President and Owner of G & D Financial Services, a mortgage company specializing in private investor mortgage loans. A passionate and highly ranked tennis player, Tom (aka Mr. Tennis) played many tournaments in Florida and across the country. In his memory, the Tom Grayson Memorial Tennis Tournament was established at The Club at Treasure Island. Tom was a giving person who enjoyed imparting advice and good spirits to any young person around the tennis courts. DHC and STC were lead sponsors of the tournament and event proceeds benefited the Scholarship Fund at Academy Prep of St. Petersburg (APSP), a rigorous private middle school for students qualifying for need-based scholarships. Our thoughts are with the Grayson family and his lovely wife, Darlene.

In 1993, Paul Cavonis and fellow Stetson law students won the ATLA National Student Trial Advocacy Competition in Miami. Over 130 teams from 78 law schools participated in the competition. At the time Cavonis was also a law clerk at then DeLoach & Hofstra, P.A. and later joined the firm after graduation.
