  • "If somebody does gets hurt in a slip and fall, I want them to know that there's hope. And Paul is the hope."

Diane was simply running errands at a large retail store. And then “I fell and got hurt,” recalled Diane. She had slipped on the floor the store failed to maintain. Diane didn’t seek help right away. She waited a few days. With her arm swelling and in pain, she told her fiancé, “Ron, I think we need to call an attorney.” When they called our firm, Paul Cavonis promptly met with them.  “He explained it to us,” recalled Diane. “He said I will always be by your side. I will always answer all the questions that need to be answered. You are completely safe with me. You can call me on my personal phone anytime and I will answer it. If I don’t get with you, I’ll get right back with you.”  “Everybody has been so pleasant,” exclaimed Diane. “Not one time do you come in this office and not get a smile and feel welcome.” Diane struggled in bed at night to find a comfortable position. Her pain often kept her awake. That’s when she found comfort in a surprising place: our firm’s website.  “There were so many nights I would sit down and watch Paul’s instructional videos. Those videos were great for me to know what I’m expecting from this law firm and from the doctors I’m seeing,” explained Diane. “Ron would jokingly say, are you watching the website again? From all of my heart, the videos you designed and all of your staff mean the world to me.” Ron praised the videos, too. “They were instructional, about depositions and the other things we were going through. Paul used plain language and explained what to expect, what you can say, what you shouldn’t say, and so on. It helped a lot.” Diane also found support watching video testimonials on our site from other clients. “Wow, these are real people. These aren’t actors. I watched individuals, husbands and wives, motorcycle people, and especially slip and fall clients because that’s what happened to me.” Though Diane suffered a traumatic injury that will never go away, she wants to share her story to help others. “If somebody does get hurt in a slip and fall, I want them to know that there’s hope. And Paul is the hope. You don’t have to be in pain and suffering. You don’t have to be alone. You’re never alone when you find this firm. You’ve got a family!”  Diane's Slip & Fall Testimonial (Transcript) Diane: I went into an establishment and I fell and got hurt, and I did not want to get any help at that time because I had already been hurt previous to that. I went home and we waited a few days. And at that time, I didn't know really what to do because I waited a few days, but my arm was killing me and swelling. And so I thought, "Ron, I think we need to call an attorney." We made an appointment and he had seen us, I believe it was on a Monday or Tuesday after that. The whole complete case has been done with Paul. He explained it to us. He said, "I will always be by your side. I will always answer all the questions that need to be answered. You are completely safe with me." And he did a lot of personal things with me, telling me things about his mom was a waitress. I used to be a waitress. So the personality with him and me and his family life growing up and telling his stories with me made me feel so comfortable with him. And he told me and Ron, "You can call me on my personal phone anytime and I will answer it. If I don't get with you, I'll get right back with you." Paul is real on the other line. When he says he's going to call, he makes the appointment. It's him. It's not a paralegal. It's Paul. Everybody has been so pleasant. Not one time do you come in this office and not get a smile. You get a smile. You feel welcome. From Peggy, when it was time to talk to Peggy, from when it was medical, talking to the paralegal, which is Jennifer. Each person shared the experience with me right along the line. It's the greatest team I've ever been with as far as an attorney, and I've dealt with other attorneys. And his personality and his staff, I would trust with anybody. And there were so many nights, not one time, two, three, four times a week I would sit down and watch Paul's website (videos) that you've created. Those site (videos) were so great for me to know what I'm going to be expecting from this law firm. Ron: It was instructional about depositions and the other things that we were going through. And Paul took the time and used plain language and explained to us what to expect, what you can say, what you shouldn't say. Diane: So it helped me with depositions. It helped me with what to say at the doctors. It helped me with everything. I had a case that was very unusual. I had two mediations. Because the first mediation, we couldn't get anything done because they were fighting. They didn't have the dates right. They didn't have the times right. They didn't have their documentation. Nothing they said was correct and Paul corrected it for them. He knew everything that was correct. You wouldn't believe it. And he knew it. It's like he studied. You know we go all to have an exam? This man went from page one to the end of the page. Ron: He knew all about the case. Diane: He knew all about my case. He was on top of it, the whole mediation. He came unglued. I said, "Wow, maybe we should go to trial." That guy just blossomed. Ron: He was waiting for his turn to come in. Diane: And he had his turn and he didn't stop. He was correct. They were wrong. He nailed it and I think that's why they settled out of court. I don't think, I know, because I think they were afraid for me to be in front of a jury. If somebody does get hurt in a slip and fall, I want them to know that there's hope. And Paul is the hope. And that's when I really want to let people know, is that you don't have to be in pain and suffering. You don't have to be alone. You're never alone when you find this firm. You've got a family. What you all have created for people that need help in injury, slip and fall, motorcycles, whatever it may be, helped a whole lot. And when you're hurt bad, I suggest getting Paul Cavonis. He's the best.

  • "From his depositions to the medical witnesses to his cross-examinations to his closing, Paul just ran that courtroom. It was very impressive. He made it easy. He made a horrible process easy. I would definitely recommend him and this law firm."

Ron and Renee's Rear-End Car Wreck (Transcript) Renee: So I was taking my children to school. We were stopped behind another vehicle, waiting on a school bus on the opposite side of the road to load kids from an apartment complex, and got hit from behind while we were stopped. My seat back kind of collapsed. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) estimated that he was going 40 miles an hour, so there were no brakes, no nothing, just slammed into the back of my car. At the time, I was very active. I was running and going to the gym. Because it's a lower back pain, that kind of stopped. Ron: I called around to a couple of law firms, and I think maybe I spoke with Monica. And based off of that, I decided that this one seemed like the proper firm for us. Monica pretty much is on top of it from the very start. Renee: Peggy also kept us well informed, and Jennifer's always been a great coordinator or things for us. Ron: Pretty much the whole process we were kept informed. Monica let us know what was going on. Paul was great. Renee: He's a great guy. He's very detailed oriented. He was amazing during the trial, he didn't miss a beat. Preparing us for trial was great. When I got up to testify, it was like I was sitting here in the office, talking with him in the office. Ron: Every time he got up, you kind of felt relaxed because you knew it was going to go right. Renee: Having somebody who can put you at ease, even if you're not going to go to trial, if you're just going to go to mediation or whatever, having somebody who can put you at ease from the beginning of the process to the end of whatever process it is, is great. Ron: Now usually it's nerve-racking. You just didn't feel it with Paul. I enjoyed the days in court. Seriously. I was only up on the stand for maybe 15, 20 minutes, but it lasted two and a half, three days. I enjoyed those days in court. He got up there. He's not a huge guy, and it was just him against a couple lawyers with the insurance company. And he just, he was like a giant out there. I mean it was like a Perry Mason moment, you know what I mean? I mean seriously. Renee: It was almost like he could predict what they were going to say, so he had his response ready. Ron: From his depositions to the medical witnesses to his cross-examinations to his closing, Paul just ran that courtroom. It was very impressive. He made it easy. He made a horrible process easy. I would definitely recommend him and this law firm.

  • "The diligence that Paul, Monica and Jennifer showed was great. I couldn’t have done anything without them. They were guiding me the whole time."

Sean had just finished working out at the gym and was driving his beloved Stella to the dog park. Stella is more than just a yellow Labrador. She’s family. They were sitting at the light on Tyrone Boulevard at 66th Street. The light turned green. Before Sean took his foot off the brake, they were hit hard from behind. The impact threw Stella into the back of Sean’s seat. His back already injured, Sean instinctively turned to see if Stella was alright and further injured himself. “I was more concerned with her than anything at that point,” recalled Sean. Sean’s employer referred him to DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis, P.A. and recommended he speak with attorney Paul Cavonis. Sean’s employer was familiar with the law firm from his involvement with Seminole Rotary Club and other community groups. Sean initially spoke with Paul, and then with paralegal Monica Case. The team met with him the next day. “We went over everything,” explained Sean. “Everything was quick and easy. They told me that it was going to take about a year, but within the year, it was constant contact letting me know what was going on, setting up my doctor appointments, meeting with doctors.” “Then paralegal Jennifer Rosenberg came in about five months into the case to help Monica get everything put together. The diligence that Paul, Monica and Jennifer showed was great. I couldn’t have done anything without them. They were guiding me the whole time.” The sign of a great legal team is how well they keep their clients’ informed. “Not only did Paul, Monica, and Jennifer call me, they’d write me emails and make sure I went over all the documents two to three times making sure everything was correct.” It wasn’t just about Sean. “Not only did they ask how I was doing, but how Stella was doing,” explained Sean. “That was a really big deal. Stella is like my child because I don’t have a wife or kids. That made me feel like they genuinely cared about my well-being as well as Stella’s well-being.” “It’s a family atmosphere there, and that’s what I liked,“ exclaimed Sean. “I couldn’t say enough about DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis.” Sean is right about our firm’s family atmosphere. We’re committed to helping every member of your family. Even beloved pets like Stella. When you need help, we’re here.

  • "The office is an all-around good office for about everything you want and everything you need. Call them!"

Richard's Slip & Fall Client Testimonial (Transcript) My first slip and fall was in 1990 something, I don't remember quite… and Paul Cavonis, I came to see him, because he was in the neighborhood and had a good recommendation. It was a bad accident and he went to bat for me. Paul has also done two other slip and falls that I was in and just did a great job. He is very professional. The whole office is professional. I would recommend them to anybody, really.   As far as the real estate goes, any questions I have Peter takes care of it. Estate planning, I didn't know anything about it. My wife says we need to make a will. Rep takes care of my will, my trust, and all that estate planning and all that, like I ended up doing the estate and a trust and everything. Like I said, I've been going here since 1999 without a problem and Paul Cavonis has just settled another case for me, a matter of fact, a couple of weeks ago. It was a tough one, but he brought it through and I'm very satisfied.   So the office is an all-around good office for about everything you want and everything you need. Call them! They’re good, I recommend them… and I don’t recommend anybody unless they’re good.

  • "They made me feel like I was a person, and not just a case."

*Name withheld pursuant to a confidentiality settlement agreement.  Testimonial (Transcript) It was actually through another referral, they recommended the firm. And I had never even heard of Paul or this firm or anything. Being out-of-state I had absolutely no idea about any of this. So I called, and the rest has been history.   The lines of communication were always open, the availability was always there for me if I had any questions or anything, and they just walked with me through the entire process. I was just so taken aback, that it’s like, ‘Wow!’ These people are going the extra mile and they’re listening to what I’m saying, and trying to help me along, and they’re so kind and so respectful.   They made me feel like I was a person, and not just a case. I am a person behind all this, and I am dealing with sorrow, and tragedy, and confusion, and they just carried the ball. But I just felt that it was a very personal relationship that we developed through phone communications. They were very kind, very respectful.   I would definitely contact them if I needed help, or if I knew someone else needed help. As good as Paul Cavonis is, I wouldn’t hesitate in a heartbeat to use the firm. That just worked out perfect for me.

  • I really feel that he did a really great job for me and I just completely would recommend the firm. Very nice people. Couldn't be better.

Janie's Injury Law Video Testimonial (Transcript) So, about three and half years ago, I tripped over a speed bump at Largo Mall and it's asphalt. So, as I was stepping off the curb and glanced up to see where my car was, I went flying forward. I hit my head on the concrete, and I fell kind of on this side. I broke a rib, I broke my wrist, I broke this finger.  As a result, I went through seven months of physical therapy and my hand never did come back. As you can see, how you can stretch that and I can't stretch this one… Then of course, Mr. Cavonis, he's made many personal calls to me. I've met with him for mediation and many different appointments, so he's been great. Just has really worked hard. I would just really recommend Mr. Cavonis to anybody who has any type of a problem and especially the slip and falls and any kind of accident. He's just very caring and he works really hard. He's very good at what he does… you're not just a number per se, you're a person and they seem to really care and they're very polite and very loving and all, so I really enjoyed it. And I really feel that he did a really great job for me and I just completely would recommend the firm. Very nice people. Couldn't be better.

  • I'd highly recommend Paul to anyone who needs an honest, aggressive attorney.

Mr. Angelo O. of Largo was badly injured in an auto accident at the intersection of Ulmerton and Belcher Roads in 2005. The accident forced him to have back surgery. He was represented by Attorney Paul Cavonis. Suit was filed in the case and the matter settled a few weeks after a successful mediation. "I was very pleased with Paul's work. He's an honest guy. He says what he means. Everything I've ever asked him to do he's done and done well. I'd highly recommend Paul to anyone who needs an honest, aggressive attorney."
